Adding a payment method, changing and deleting

The following types of cards can be added to the account (debit and credit:

  • Visa;
  • Visa Electron;
  • MasterCard.

Sometimes the listed map types are not supported by Google Play. If the card is on the list of supported, but you still cannot use it for payment, you should contact your bank or credit institution that issued the card with this problem.

The following payment options are not suitable for paying for purchases on Google Play:

  1. bank transfer;
  2. wire transfer;
  3. transport cards;
  4. Money Gram;
  5. medical savings account;
  6. Western Union;
  7. virtual credit cards;
  8. payment with blocking funds on the card.

Android

You can add a payment method if certain actions are performed:

  • sign in on your mobile device to “Play Store”;
  • press the menu, then “Account” and select “Add payment method”;
  • then follow the instructions;
  • The added payment option will be available in your Google Play account.

There is also an additional payment method for some subscriptions. It can be removed at any time. The procedure is as follows:

  1. open the Play Store application on the device;
  2. select the Menu icon, then “Subscriptions”;
  3. click the “Manage” button next to the subscription;
  4. select “Reserve payment method”;
  5. in the “Other options” section there are available payment methods, you need to select one of them;
  6. then follow the instructions.

If necessary, you can delete a payment method, for this you need:

  • open Play Store on your phone;
  • click on the “Menu” button, then select “Account”;
  • click “Select”, then “Other payment settings”;
  • if required, sign in to Google Payments;
  • in the browser, click “Menu”, then click “Payment Methods”;
  • under the selected payment option, click “Delete”, then click “Delete” again;
  • the selected method will be deleted from your Google account.

You can change the payment option like this:

  1. enter Play Store on your Android device;
  2. select “Menu”, then “Account”;
  3. having decided on the method, select “Other payment settings”;
  4. sign in to Google Payments if necessary;
  5. select “Menu” in the browser, then “Payment methods”;
  6. next to the selected method there is a button “Change”, click on it;
  7. after changing the data, click on “Update”.

To change the payment method upon purchase, you must also sign in to the Play Store app. After opening paid content, click on the price and check the permission for the application. Next to the price, you will see a down arrow button that you need to click on. Then select “Payment Methods”. After adding or selecting a payment option, pay for the purchase.

Computer

To be able to add a payment method, sign in to your Google Play account. Select “Add payment method”, after which instructions for further actions will appear on the screen. The selected payment option will become available in your Google account.

You can delete a payment method by following the instructions below:

  • on a PC, open a Google Play account;
  • click “Change payment method”, you will be taken to your Google Payments account;
  • on the left, find and click on “Payment Methods”;
  • next to the selected method, click “Delete”.

In order to change the payment method, you will also need to sign in to Google Play. Next to the selected payment method, click “Change”. After entering the new data, click on the “Update” button.

You can change the payment option upon purchase as follows:

  1. on PC, open Google Play;
  2. open a page with paid content;
  3. click on the price;
  4. a down arrow should be displayed next to the price, which you need to click on;
  5. change the payment method;
  6. following the instructions, pay for the purchase.

The payment options added during the purchase are saved in your account.

If the payment profile is deleted, all information and transaction history will be permanently deleted. After deleting a profile, you will no longer be able to:

  • buy from Google services;
  • pay via Google Pay;
  • send and request transfers via Google Pay Send and Gmail;
  • view the history of cash transactions, etc.

You can pay for purchases in the service not only with a bank card. You can use PayPal. This has its advantages, since PayPal only refers to intermediaries, to which you can easily link your card.

If necessary, the card can be unlinked from the PayPal account at any time, and the payment method will remain saved in Google Play.

How to remove payment data from Google Wallet

Google Wallet and Google Play are reliable services that allow you to quickly make purchases, watch paid movies or order a music album.

To confirm the purchase, you need to provide payment information, which is quite simple. To delete payment data, you can no longer do without some knowledge.

Payment profile information is filled in Google Play, more specifically in the Google Wallet dialog box. Deleting data is possible only after launching the main Google Wallet application, or on the website.

If you sign in directly through the app itself, you’ll need to enter your Google Wallet PIN. If you want to access through the site, you need a Google Account password.

Once in your account, find the “Payment Methods” section if you are on the site, or go to the “Cards” section.
