Instructions: how to identify a wallet

To see the current status and raise it if necessary, go to the “Settings” menu item on the official website of the Qiwi payment system. You can also get information about the identification process in the section of the same name, which is located at the very bottom of the site page.

The following information will be required to qualify as a Principal:

• full name of the wallet owner;
• date of birth;
• passport data;
• SNILS and TIN number.

It is allowed to complete the simplified identification procedure remotely or in person. Only citizens of the Russian Federation who can use one of three methods undergo the procedure in absentia.

1. call the Qiwi support service at 8-800-707-77-59;
2. fill out a special form on the website or in the mobile application;
3. to be identified in the Qiwi terminal.

Foreigners must undergo the procedure only in person, confirming their identity with documents. They will need the following documents.

• passport of a foreign citizen;
• notarized translation of the passport.

Full Qiwi wallet identification is required to expand the functionality to the “Professional” status. It is allowed to pass it only internally, regardless of the citizenship of the user.

To do this, the owner of the wallet should contact one of the Qiwi Bank, or contact the Contact office. Information about the addresses of offices can be obtained on the Qiwi website, as well as by calling the payment system support.

Good news for wallet owners is the opportunity to pass identification in Euroset stores.

To pass the procedure, a Russian citizen will only need a passport. A foreigner needs the following documents.

• foreign passport with notarized translation;
• migration card or residence permit;
• visa (not for citizens who entered the Russian Federation under a visa-free regime).

Identification and limits of QIWI payment system

Like other payment systems, Qiwi has its own limitations, and they are called Qiwi wallet limits. The system of restrictions was introduced in 2013 under the pretext of securing cash flows. The fact is that at first each client was anonymous. There was no need to prove your identity with any documents. The restrictions were the same for everyone: no more than 15 thousand rubles per withdrawal and no more than 40 thousand rubles per month.

But banks were extremely negative about such payments, since neither the name nor the passport details of the sender were provided. Banks often blocked such transactions. In addition, the security of the circulation of funds in the country was strengthened, so all payment systems had to verify personal data. In the Webmoney system, this is called obtaining a passport, and in Qiwi, identification.

If the client plans to conduct large transactions, he needs to go through identification in order to remove Qiwi limits on transfers. So, let’s consider the stages of identification and the benefits that the user will receive as a result:

1. The first level of identification is assigned to all registered users. The corresponding name is “Anonymous”. No passport or TIN code is needed, only a valid phone number. Even the name can be entered by someone else, it does not matter. The only important thing is that this level of access severely restricts the user by setting payment limits in the Qiwi system. But no matter how banks struggle with anonymity, it is this level of access that most customers of the payment system use. At this level, the user is provided with a digital wallet with a limit of 15,000 rubles, and the maximum withdrawal amount is no more than 40,000 rubles per month. This is more than enough for small financial transactions: buying goods in online stores, replenishing the account of mobile operators, paying for the Internet and other services.
2. Identification up to the “Standard” level. To gain access to new features, you will need to pass identity verification. This can be done in several ways. Send scans of your passport and TIN code to the Qiwi payment system identification center. The second option is to pass a check in a Qiwi terminal or provide information about yourself using the Visa Qiwi Wallet mobile application. Another way is to call the call center and confirm your identity during communication with a company employee.

The second level of identification gives customers more advantages: the limit on a Qiwi wallet is higher – 60 thousand rubles, and the maximum amount for withdrawal, including through the company’s terminals, is 200 thousand rubles. This level of access is usually used by people working on the Internet. These can be copywriters, programmers, web designers and CPA marketing workers.

1. Identification “Maximum” is full access to the system. There are practically no restrictions. The maximum amount on the wallet is 600 thousand rubles, and there are simply no limits on transfers and payments. Full identification is possible only in specialized places. If the user lives in Moscow, it is enough to bring the documents to one of the offices of Qiwi payment system partners. Residents of other regions can go through full identification at the points of the CONTACT system, the centers of the LetoBank bank and the Euroset stores, but there is a service fee of 50 rubles. Documents that will be needed: of course, a passport and TIN code, address of residence (registration), phone number that was indicated during initial registration. The package of documents is transferred to the employee, he fills in the identification form, and after a while, an SMS with a confirmation code will be sent to the mobile number.

Should I do full identification? Worth it if you really need it. An ordinary person who spends no more than 10 thousand rubles a month on goods from an online store and pay for services hardly needs full access. But on the other hand, banks like it when transfers come from a person whose identity is documented.
